It is always an honor to shoot for Garden and Gun because this magazine just does it right. I tell EVERYONE about this magazine, and I often hear, “What in the world is Garden and Gun? Some magazine talkin’ about gardenin’ and huntin’?” (in an overly southern accent) NO, it’s not that at all!!!  I always jump on the chance to promote the magazine and explain why it is so great…

The buzz among many editors in New York City is that G&G is the hottest magazine in the country right now. This morning, I asked an employee at a bookstore how well the magazine sells, and she said it sells out every single month- that they can not keep it on the shelf. It is so cool, and rare, that this southern magazine manages to appeal to both men and women and to people all across the country. How do they do it?? This is how… The stories are always authentic and interesting- it is southern, but not too southern- it is cool, without trying too hard to be cool. What it really boils down to is that the people at this magazine have TASTE. Good taste is not easy to find these days, which is why we are always excited when we have the opportunity to shoot for a magazine that always gets it right! Here’s information on subscribing to G&G.

Below is the story Miller shot for the February issue…We went to Mobile, Alabama and spent four days shooting all around the city. (they chose Mobile for February because of Mardi Gras) The amazing Winston Groom, author of Forrest Gump, wrote the article! Below is the article and then a few of my favorite shots from our week in Mobile…some of them are shots that did not make the issue!
